The Asymmetric Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a refreshing experience with lively notes of zesty citrus, tropical fruit, and a touch of gooseberry. The pioneering efforts of wineries like Cloudy Bay in the 1980s helped establish New Zealand as a significant producer of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc wines, known for their vibrant and distinctive flavour profile.

A new one for us, this Sauvignon Blanc is gorgeously ripe and juicy with flavours of Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apples backed up by irresistible juicy acidity. Enjoy this with or without food, its so versatile that it is one of the wines that can be enjoyed with a huge range of food. My personal favourite with this is to enjoy it with a roast chicken. Produced in Loire, which is the home town of Sauvignon Blanc, our house wine is easy to see why it is so popular.

Although this is the from France, the intensity of the tropical fruit would make you think you were sipping on New Zealand's finest. Think tropical ripe pineapples, grapefruit and passionfruit. Dry, fruity and super zesty. This is a blend of 3 local grapes; Sauvignon Blanc, Gros Manseng and Colombard. Domaine de Menard is a family owned estate in the heart of Gascony in South Western France. The farm with no chemicals and they are certified HVE, which means they are certified to the highest farming levels for being environmentally friendly. The name 'Cuvee Marine' refers to the soil which is composed of clay and marine fossils, giving the wine extra vibrancy.

Picpoul de Pinet from Château de la Mirande is a crisp, apple-flavoured white wine that pairs beautifully with seafood. Often compared to Muscadet from the Loire Valley, this Languedoc wine offers a zingy, dry profile with a touch more grapey richness. Its proximity to the sea imparts a bright, briny character, complemented by hints of white flowers and ripe green fruit at its core. It’s not austere but rather mouth-filling, retaining all the zip and zing expected from a Picpoul de Pinet. With a bouquet of spicy aniseed, green fruits, and herbs, and a palate that’s resinous with savoury flavours of yellow plum, and pepper, it delivers a sharp, refreshing prickle.

The Casa Maria Verdejo is dry, light-bodied, and zesty, featuring flavours of green apple and fennel typical of the grape variety. This refreshing profile pairs well with various foods, making it ideal for grilled fresh mackerel with a green salad or as an aperitif with manzanilla olives.Bodega Cuatro Rayas, established in 1935, is the largest and most significant producer in the Rueda D.O. This cooperative, now comprising 400 farmers with around 2000 hectares, focuses on quality wine production in an environmentally-friendly manner. The Verdejo offers notes of pineapple, passionfruit, and guava, with a citrus finish. Its good weight makes it a perfect match for seafood paella or simple pasta dishes, offering a great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc.
