Its the perfect box if you love Sauvignon, are bored of the same wines and in need of some inspiration.

When you think of Sauvignon, you immediately think of those vibrant and intense citrus flavours such as lemons, grapefruits and pears. If you are a fan of New Zealand Sauvignon then its those mouth-watering tropical fruit flavours of pineapples, kiwis and sometimes even mangoes.

We have put together a box of wines that contains a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and wines that have all of those gorgeous flavours but come from lesser known grapes varieties. By the time you have ‘completed’ the box, you will have tried no less than 5 new grapes varieties brimming with citrus fruits, and are refreshing, exciting and new! These are tried and tested wines which will delight and excite Sauvignon Blanc lovers alike.

Asymmetric Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022
A gorgeous Sauv that will have you reaching for more! The Asymmetric Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is a refreshing experience with lively notes of zesty citrus, tropical fruit, and a touch of gooseberry. It's like a cool breeze on a summer day, leaving a crisp and invigorating finish that's simply delightful. When it comes to food, this Sauvignon Blanc is a versatile partner. Enjoy it alongside fresh oysters for a burst of briny sweetness, or pair it with a herb-infused goat cheese salad as a light and vibrant starter. For main courses, it complements grilled prawns with a squeeze of lemon or adds a lively edge to a vegetable stir-fry with its vibrant acidity. Sauvignon Blanc was first planted in New Zealand in the 1970s. The grape variety found its ideal growing conditions in the Marlborough region on the South Island, which led to the explosive success and recognition of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc on the global stage. The pioneering efforts of wineries like Cloudy Bay in the 1980s helped establish New Zealand as a significant producer of high-quality Sauvignon Blanc wines, known for their vibrant and distinctive flavour profile.

Les Rafelieres Sauvignon Blanc, Loire 2023
A new one for us, this Sauvignon Blanc is gorgeously ripe and juicy with flavours of Granny Smith and Golden Delicious apples backed up by irresistible juicy acidity. Enjoy this with or without food, its so versatile that it is one of the wines that can be enjoyed with a huge range of food. My personal favourite with this is to enjoy it with a roast chicken. Produced in Loire, which is the home town of Sauvignon Blanc, our house wine is easy to see why it is so popular.

Chateau de a Mirande Picpoul
1
Chateau de a Mirande Picpoul
Picpoul de Pinet from Château de la Mirande is a crisp, apple-flavoured white wine that pairs beautifully with seafood. Often compared to Muscadet from the Loire Valley, this Languedoc wine offers a zingy, dry profile with a touch more grapey richness. Its proximity to the sea imparts a bright, briny character, complemented by hints of white flowers and ripe green fruit at its core. It’s not austere but rather mouth-filling, retaining all the zip and zing expected from a Picpoul de Pinet. With a bouquet of spicy aniseed, green fruits, and herbs, and a palate that’s resinous with savoury flavours of yellow plum, and pepper, it delivers a sharp, refreshing prickle.
