Via Arxentea Bianco is a blend in equal parts of Treixadura and Godello. Once the grapes are pressed they are left on their lees (dead yeast cells) in a process called trabajo de lias. This imparts a beautiful creamy texture to the wine.
The DO Monterrei is in Galicia, north west Spain. The Monterrei region is the smallest of the Galician DOs and it has the warmest and driest climate in Galicia. The name ‘Via Arxentea’ translates as ‘The Silver Rout’, the local name for the route of El Camino de Santiago to Santiago de Compostela.
