A Portuguese Adventure Wine Box | Classic Edition
Our Portuguese Adventure Wine Box 'Classic Edition' is a red wine lover's dream. It is a box of gorgeously rich, dark and opulent reds that are perfect for people who like wines such as Malbec, Valpolicella and Rioja.
This box contains the following 6 bottles:
2 x Casa da Passarella, Dao
Another cracker of a wine from the Dao region in Portugal, and an ideal wine for those who drink Malbec and are unsure of where to look for good alternatives. It is medium to full bodied with intense dark fruit flavours and a silky mouthfeel. As soon as we tasted this, we knew it was a perfect wine for all you guys who love big wines that stain your teeth! Another excellent example of the Dao style, and a perfect wine to have with a roast joints of meat or BBQs.
2 x Quattro Tinto DOC, Douro
This Douro red tastes like it is more expensive than it is, and we love wines like that! It is a cracker, bursting with the intense aromas of forest fruits like blueberries, black cherry, and blackberries. There’s a seductive touch of cocoa and chocolate in the background, giving it that extra layer of richness. On the palate, it’s silky smooth and beautifully balanced, showing off its ripe fruit with elegance and finesse.
1 x Monte Da Cal, Alentejo RED
This wine is pure Alentejo elegance in a glass. Intense aromas of ripe red fruits and a hint of toast from its 6 months in French oak barrels. It’s wonderfully balanced—soft, fruity, and harmonious, with just the right amount of freshness. There’s a lovely, elegant quality to it that makes it easy to enjoy, yet it has enough depth to keep you intrigued from the first sip to the last.
1 x Herdade do Peso, 'Trinca Bolotas' Alentejo Tinto
Portuguese wines are some of the best value reds on the market and this field blend from Alentejo is now exception. Dark fruit like blackberries and blackcurrants are layered with spice and a gorgeous texture. This is a bombshell wine, a real cracker! One of the main grapes in the blend here is Alicante Bouschet, a very unique grape in the wine world as the pulp is dark in colour. It adds depth and perfume to this outstanding wine. 'Trinca Bolotas' meaning acorn muncher is a nod to the acorn munching Iberian pigs that are native to the area. Alentejo produces superb red wines made from the regions native grape varieties, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional.
