Arianna Occhipinti, SP68 Rosso, Sicily
Product Information
Arianna Occhipinti SP 68 Rosso (Nero d'Avola and Frappato) offers hints of flowers, leather, smoke, spice, herbs, liquorice, earth, and mandarin rind. On the palate, wild cherry and tobacco leaf are supported by dark plum and blackberry flavours. Violet-like floral notes, leather, and spice create a lively, delicious wine with a lingering finish and ripe, fine-grained tannins.
SP68 reflects Arianna's decade of winemaking under her uncle Giusto Occhipinti of COS estate. The vineyards are biodynamically managed, and the cellar work is gentle, using natural yeasts, no temperature control, and minimal SO2. This organic, biodynamic flagship wine is balanced, elegant, and retains the rustic soul of Nero d'Avola with the fragrant touch of Frappato. It is delicate and stylish from one of the oldest wine-producing regions, as noted by Stanley Tucci during his visit.
