Didier Desvignes Fleurie, France 2023
A classic Fleurie, it entices with vivid bouquets of violets, an olfactory prelude to what awaits on the palate. Here, the wine unveils flavours reminiscent of freshly crushed wild strawberries, framed by a herbal, savoury dimension —a delightful symphony of flavours and textures that's sure to please. Didier Desvignes' family boasts a century-long legacy of winemaking in the heart of Beaujolais. His ardor for the world of wine and viticulture ignited at a tender age, just 11 years old, when he'd accompany his father to the vineyards, tending to a few vines here and there. It was during these formative years that he took the reins of his first vintage, an experience that solidified his destiny to carry forward the family estate. In 1981, he embarked on a significant milestone, acquiring his initial parcel of land in Morgon. Today, alongside his wife Denise, the Desvignes family oversees a remarkable 26 hectares spread across Morgon, Fleurie, Moulin a Vent, Chiroubles, and Brouilly. Their philosophy revolves around nurturing healthy, mature grapes as the fundamental building blocks for crafting exceptional wines, firmly believing that greatness stems from the vineyard's bounty.

Pinot Grigio Ramato, Specogna, Italy (Rose)

Pinot Grigio Ramato, Specogna, Italy (Rose)
Wow! This is a fascinating, delicious and slightly quirky wine. The Pinot Grigio grape has a pink tinted skin, which means that winemakers are able to produce the gorgeous Italian style of pink Pinot Grigio which is called Ramato. This is the Rolls Royce of Pinot Grigio Blush and one of the nicest Rose wines you will try this year. This wine is soft pink in colour with copper highlights, a characteristic of this varietal. It is fresh and floral with aromas of pink lady apples, and ripe pears with notes of elderflower. Lively with a creamy mouthfeel it is a refined wine that is made to be enjoyed with shellfish and seafood, or simply enjoyed on a warm summers evening.

Gerard Tremblay PETIT Chablis, France 2023

Gerard Tremblay PETIT Chablis, France 2023
This unoaked Petit Chablis from Gérard Tremblay is a crisp, refreshing gem, crafted from vines between 10 and 30 years old. Pale straw yellow in color, it opens with vibrant notes of fresh mint and citrus, with just a touch of liquorice on the nose. On the palate, it’s wonderfully supple, offering layers of grapefruit peel and a clean, mineral edge that leads to a crisp, lingering finish. Petit Chablis is a lighter, more delicate expression than a traditional Chablis, perfect for those who love a fresh, mineral-driven Chardonnay. Ideal as an aperitif, this is Chablis at its purest and most vibrant. Gerard and Helene Tremblay are the 5th generation to make wine at the estate and have over 30 hectares including Premier Cru and Grand Cru. They have put huge investment into the property including a winery working entirely by gravity.
