This wine is fresh with fine bubbles, clean floral notes, and a grassy aroma. Notes of banana and citrus fruits emerge, with a crunchy finish and balanced acidity. Made from indigenous grapes and founded in 1999 by Vicente García, it is recognized as one of the top Cavas, with the family’s winemaking heritage dating back to 1808. The continental climate of hot summers and cold winters is perfect for grape cultivation.Owned by Vicente Garcia and Ana Suria, Pago de Tharsys spans 13 hectares in Requeña. The proximity of the vineyards to the winery ensures quick grape transfer, reducing spoilage risks. The blend is 75% Macabeo and 25% Parellada, with initial fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 14°C. After one year of aging, the wine is disgorged without adding any expedition liquor, resulting in a bone-dry, fresh wine with fine bubbles and balanced acidity.

A stunning Champagne that I give 10/10 for value for money and flavour. Elegant, rich and creamy, this is a Champagne to write home about. A true Champenois, co-owner and winemaker Thierry Gobillard often mentions that his house is situated a few metres away from Dom Pérignon’s grave and that one of his first birthday present was a pair of “sécateurs”. Maison JM Gobillard is a small family-owned and run property with about 25 hectares of mainly 1er Cru vineyards in Hautvillers. They also buy grapes from some 75 hectares of vines through multiyear agreements with growers selected for their expertise and quality.

Made from Chardonnay and produced in the Burgundy region, this Cremant makes an excellent alternative to Champagne, at half the price. This Crémant possesses a brilliant gold color. The bubbles are fine and pleasant in the mouth. The nose marries fresh aromas of acacia, green apple and white peach with buttery and nutty notes, due to its particularly long aging on laths. It’s a gastronomic wine: round and very complex in the mouth.
